Arabian Horses

Hello fellow equestrians!  Today I will teach you about Arabian Horses.  You will learn about their history, their features, and their strengths and weaknesses.

The History of the Arabian Breed
Arabian horses inhabited the Middle East before they spread across the world.  They were ancient warhorses seemingly built for long distance running.  The mares were the most prized, because they could keep their cool better than stallions in the heat of battle.  Some soldiers even let Arabian mares sleep in their tents with them!

Key Features of the Arabian Horse
~ a delicately dished face with wide intelligent eyes and an   arching neck
~ Arabians have a high tail carriage and flowing gaits
~ They are quick learners, alert, and sensitive
~ Arabian horses have one less vertebrae than other breeds of horses
  •        Strengths and Weaknesses of the Arabian Breed
  •    Arabian Horses are incredibly fast.  They can gallop up to around 43 mph.  They are not as quick as thoroughbreds in a short race, but in a long distance race, they will always triumph.  Although they are not the fastest horses around, their stamina will certainly surprise you.
